Battle of Fort San Carlos (St. Louis) Commemoration Event

60 militia members from Ste. Genevieve played a large part blocking the British-allied Indians from taking St. Louis in the Revolutionary War.  The Battle of St. Louis Commemoration Event is coming up May 27th and 28th.

Saturday, May 27 – The Sons of the American Revolution and the Ste. Genevieve Militia are organizing a Color Guard with a march to Memorial Cemetery.  A militia encampment will be on display at the Centre for French Colonial Life (both days).

Sunday, May 28 – The Annual Commemoration of the Battle of Fort San Carlos will be held inside the Ste. Genevieve Catholic Church at 2p.  Robert J. Moore, Jr., PhD will be the featured speaker.

3:15p – Dr. Robert Moore (retired NPS Historian) Presentation about the battle at French Colonial America, 198 Market St.

Saving St. Louis exhibit on continues at the Centre for French Colonial Life detailing the battle and its importance to winner the Revolutionary War.
