The Ste. Geneviève Antique Mall is the labor of love of Patrick Fahey and Dr. Susan O’Donnell.  After a tornado hit Ste. Gen county’s only antique mall in St. Mary, they saw an opening to take a giant factory building from the 1930s and bring a new antique mall to the heart of this historic town.  Open seven days a week, it’s become a beacon of consistency in a town known for its mom and pop shops that are open when they can be.  They even have a bar on site, PJ’s, that serves specialty coffees on weekend mornings and the heavier stuff when the mood is right.  It may or may not have an effect on shopping habits.  The research is still being compiled.  PJ’s also host events that keep the antique mall buzzing after hours like Wine Down Wednesdays and their Friday Music Series.  I’d tell you to stop by, but most people inevitably do.  When you’re there, say hey to the eternal “employee of the month,” Barney.  He loves belly scratches.
