Route Du Vin Wine Trail

Much like the pioneers who settled here in the 1700s, a spirit compelled a new wave of people into the limestone foothills surrounding Ste. Gen to try their hand at winemaking in the 1990s. At that time, a young cohort of business people went in on a venture to start what became three separate and distinct wineries in Charleville, Chaumette, and Crown Valley. In the early oughts came Cave Winery and Weingarten. This started the basis for what is now known as the Route du Vin Wine Trail.

With the marching of time, the footprint of the Route du Vin is changing with the addition of Chateau Ste. Genevieve, the closing of Cave Vineyard, and the turnover of the other properties to new owners. What we’re seeing is a reinvigoration of the trail that should keep wine drinkers coming back for years to come.
